About EnergyPrices Europe

EnergyPrices Europe is an independent publisher of plain-English guides to household electricity prices across Europe: the all-in price per kWh, standing charges, typical annual bills, taxes and the generation mix behind the cost, for all 27 EU member states plus the United Kingdom, Norway and Switzerland.

Why we exist

Electricity pricing in Europe is a layering of wholesale markets, national taxes, regulated network charges and crisis-era policy measures — and it changes every semester. The underlying data is public (Eurostat publishes verified half-yearly prices; Ofgem, ElCom/ELC and national regulators publish the rest) but scattered. We put the numbers in one place, cite the period for every figure, and explain what actually moves the bill.

What we publish

One guide per country, all following the same structure — verified price, price components, standing charges, annual-bill scenarios at several consumption levels, energy mix, and practical saving levers — plus a Europe-wide comparison table on the home page. Figures are informational estimates, not offers; your own tariff depends on supplier, region and consumption.

Editorial standards

Every price on this site is traceable to an official source: Eurostat's electricity price statistics (dataset nrg_pc_204) for EU members and Norway, the Ofgem price cap for Great Britain, and ElCom/ELC tariff surveys plus the Federal Office of Energy for Switzerland. Mix figures come from Eurostat's renewable energy statistics and the World Nuclear Association. Each page carries its update date and the data period. Nothing here is financial or energy-supply advice.
